Griveau is my last name.
I developed my passion for material and craft work through my studies, discoveries and inspirations. I studied industrial design but found it too impersonal, so I went to China and studied arts & craft. I turned then to material engineering, sustainability and ecological design. My conclusion: there is nothing better for your peace of mind than working with your hands.
I found in Eindhoven great harmony between artists, designers and engineers. I met social designers, conceptual designers, social entrepreneurs and business people. This environment inspired me and always pushed me further. I am now thinking outside of the box, and free to develop every idea or concept coming to my mind.
My work process doesn't begin with aesthetic, but always with connections and materials. It's based on the balance of the object itself and of the different colors and textures of all parts that compose it. It is a wonderful and unique experience working directly with materials, manipulating them, finding their weaknesses and strengths and pushing them to their limits. The understanding of the production process is what motivates and inspires my work.
